I’m sure we all dream of one day having a big bathroom with stunning decor that can pass for a spa. But sometimes we’re stuck with small spaces and huge decorating dilemmas. Don’t be discouraged, you’re not alone! As houses get smaller, so do bathrooms. And I know a lot of you are in dire need of small bathroom ideas. So today I’ve got 10 simple ways to spruce up your tiny spaces.

Small Bathroom Ideas: 10 Simple Ways To Maximize Your Space

Having a tiny bathroom doesn’t mean you can’t create a relaxing, inviting space. You just need to know what works in a small space. So while you should put off the huge bath tub for now, there are still other ways to add little luxuries to your bathroom. With the right organization tricks, creative use of color, and ingenious decor ideas, you can create a tiny oasis of your own. Keep scrolling for simple yet effective small bathroom ideas:

1. Add More Towel Rods

Contrary to their name, towel rods aren’t just for towels. They’re also ingenious small bathroom ideas. Install 2 or 3 more rods to store loofas, hair dryers, and other bath accessories.

2. Use Corner Cabinets

If you absolutely need a bathroom cabinet, go for a tall but thin one like a corner storage cabinet. I got mine from Ikea! It’s compact enough to let you use otherwise wasted corner space.

3. Layout is Everything

I always say every corner matters, literally. So when you’re working on the bathroom layout, make sure you don’t waste any space. You can opt for installing the sink and mirror on a corner to free up space for storage or a bigger shower.

4. Limit Your Color Palette

The more colors you have in the bathroom, the more complicated it becomes. And a more complicated bathroom design can end up cramping your space. Limit your colors to maybe three main shades. Or use color as an accent! I love white bathrooms with color blocked accents.

5. Pick Bright Shades

While we’re on the subject of colors, small spaces look best with light or bright shades. White is always a good small bathroom design idea since it will open up your space, and make it look a lot bigger than it actually is.

6. Add A Window

Bright spaces usually look bigger, so let some natural light in! A window is the perfect addition to your small bathroom ideas. Plus it also provides added ventilation.

7. Use Mixed Storage

With all the storage options available these days, you have no excuse to be messy! I love bathroom cabinets with a lot of different kinds and sizes of storage. Choose one with small drawers for toiletries, larger storage, and open shelving.

8. De-Clutter

Most of the time, it’s not really your sink or toilet that take up space: it’s your clutter. So if you don’t need all those shelves, or those extra cabinets inside your bathroom, take them out! Leave only essential small bathroom ideas.

9. Add A Shower Niche

Say goodbye to plastic shower caddies and cumbersome shower options, we all know those don’t work. And they take up extra space! Instead of adding small bathroom ideas, find ways to work with what you already have. A shower niche takes your unused wall, and turns it into instant storage space. Plus, it’s super modern and chic.

10. Use A Sliding Door

A regular swing door can eat up so much valuable space since it needs a large area for it to swing open and shut. The solution? Sliding doors. They’re much more efficient with space, and they’re great if you want a farmhouse look to your home! If your bathroom is extra small, you can even try sliding bathroom enclosures.
